I say this a lot, but without a shadow of a doubt Matt Kindt is one of my favorite creators. I love the stories that he tells and the worlds he builds. He makes stories that are what I want to read, and really lands in my best of lists year in and year out. I always say that crime and horror are my favorite genres not just in comics but over all types of media. Kidnt does the crime/spy/espionage stuff perfect but doesn’t get into the horror stuff often, but let me tell you what Hairball is happening, and I think its going to bring something that I have been missing.

Hairball is coming from the same creative team as Fear Case with Matt Kindt writing the story, Tyler Jenkins on art and Hilary Jenkins on colors and being published on the Flux House imprint of Dark Horse Comics.
I was lucky enough to get to read Hairball early and I’m going to scream it out into the void that this is a must read horror book. Kindt does what he always does and threads in a story with multiple layers and it really takes until late in the book to really know that this is going in the horror genre, or is it? It takes elements from rosemary’s baby where you are just grasping to know if it happens and even with the conclusion of this issue you truly are wondering if what you think is going on is actually happening. The Jenkins’ combo on art really helps build into how creepy and unsettling this story is.

This is a perfect slow burn of a horror tale that I’m 100% pumped for. If you see Hairball on the shelf and you are a fan of horror, thrillers or Matt Kidnt, I highly recommend grabbing this. 4.75/5 and I can’t wait to see what this story brings!
